The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum maintains 1,200 acres of land with miles of trails. Those acres encompass numerous gardens, collections of trees, and examples of natural environments ranging from forest to prairie lands. It came into existence in 1958 through the collaboration of local garden clubs and other community groups.
The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum presently offers a variety of educational classes for adults and children, as well as internship opportunities. Its adult gardening courses range from one-day classes, such as Lemon Herbs: For the Body and Soul, which will take place on Saturday, September 12, 2015, to longer courses such as Creating a Home Landscape You Can Love and Enjoy, which begins on Saturday, September 26, and continues for three more Saturdays.
